She researches the lived experience of datafication and digitalization, through the lens of digital ethnography, interpretive sociology, and symbolic interactionism.

Ani’s research focuses on the relationships between lived experiences, emerging technologies and the historical, current, and future dynamics of higher education. She is currently working on her Master’s thesis, which investigates how Generative AI disruptions can be leveraged as a threshold moment to radically reimagine, redesign, and reinvigorate pedagogical practices.

Karin’s work sits at the intersection of television studies, software studies and critical data and algorithm studies. Current research focuses on streaming video culture and industries. At Utrecht Uni’s Center for Digital Humanities, Karin is part of the GenAI in Education Humanities taskforce.
